How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? RESEARCH For the research element of my A2 coursework, I used several different media technologies. For example I used YouTube to search for examples of professional and student made music videos from different genres, this was really useful as YouTube allows people from all over the world to upload videos and share content, it meant I could look at students work from all around the world from different schools.  YOUTUBE CREATOR STUDIO I also used YouTube to search for inspiration from different artists and music video directors, such as the video I created for Hannah Lux Davis. To Lip-Sync or Not To Lip-Sync? That is the Question.  What is Lip-Syncing?  Lip-syncing is a technique commonly used in music videos in which a person featured in the music video moves their lips in time with the vocals of the song. Often, the people lip-syncing are usually the artist/performer of the song, however, occasionally, dancers or characters within the narrative can lip-sync with the vocals too. Lip-syncing is often used to separate narrative sequences from performance sequences, as the fictional characters that appear in the narrative tend not to lip sync. How Effective is Lip-Syncing? Lip syncing can be a very effective technique to separate music videos from short films by adding an element of performance that directly references and reflects on the song, rather than distracting away from the song with an irrelevant video. Post 4 - Practice task planning

Potential Settings:  Kett's Park This is where we decided to film our preliminary task. Towards the back of the field, there is a large area of forest. This is where our characters meet, and fall in love. We chose this area as it is quite picturesque, and logically, makes sense for the story (they meet whilst walking their dog, and this is a popular dog walking area). Later on in the video, we are planning on showing them at home, perhaps arguing. For the house, we will use Megan's living room. We will focus more on the relationship, and the action, so the room will just be generic. The forest will be bright and beautiful, which will become a stark juxtaposition compared to the house. This will further portray the breakdown of their relationship, and how happy they were together, which will evoke sadness.
