To Lip-Sync or Not To Lip-Sync? That is the Question.  What is Lip-Syncing?  Lip-syncing is a technique commonly used in music videos in which a person featured in the music video moves their lips in time with the vocals of the song. Often, the people lip-syncing are usually the artist/performer of the song, however, occasionally, dancers or characters within the narrative can lip-sync with the vocals too. Lip-syncing is often used to separate narrative sequences from performance sequences, as the fictional characters that appear in the narrative tend not to lip sync. How Effective is Lip-Syncing? How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? RESEARCH For the research element of my A2 coursework, I used several different media technologies. For example I used YouTube to search for examples of professional and student made music videos from different genres, this was really useful as YouTube allows people from all over the world to upload videos and share content, it meant I could look at students work from all around the world from different schools.  YOUTUBE CREATOR STUDIO I also used YouTube to search for inspiration from different artists and music video directors, such as the video I created for Hannah Lux Davis. I have also used YouTube to upload all my videos I have ever created and posted, on my own YouTube account meaning I can embed them in blogger. Post 1 - Our practice task explained

My group (Megan, Noah, Wendy and I) were randomly given a fairy tale or nursery rhyme, and a question. We were tasked with creating a music video relevant to one of the stimuli given. The fairy tale we were given was- 'The boy who cried wolf'. The question we were given was 'What if you said yes to everything?' After discussion, we decided to choose the nursery rhyme (the boy who cried wolf). This was because we initially had more ideas for this stimulus, and felt we could develop an interesting music video. This is our original mind map for this idea: Potential song choices: 'Running with the Wolves'- Aurora:     This was one of our first choices. We liked the song, and felt it was relevant, but in the end, decided it was too dark for our new idea.  'The boy who cried Wolf'- Passenger.     For our first idea, we decided to use this song.
