    The props needed in my music videos are..
  • Empty alcohol bottles filled with juice or water for those under 18, Cigarettes and fake drugs, each of these will be featured at the party scene and during the car ride to the party. Some of these items are easy to purchase, such as the bottles of alcohol and cigarettes however I will not be purchasing any alcohol as I am underage and so are most of my cast therefore I will collect any empty bottles from parents and adults.


These images are simply stock images to show the type of bottles I will collect but these are the type of bottles I wish to collect to make it seem as though my characters are drinking alcohol. I also need some cigarettes I can purchase these as I am over 16 however I am only going to allow people to smoke who already do, and ask them to supply their own cigarettes. Obviously I will not have real drugs therefore I took information from the website..

None of the actors or crew used or handled any drugs during the making of this video, we all understand the effects of drugs and do not endorse usage of such substances, we fully understand that Drugs are physically addictive and life threatening. The information I found on this website told me how to fake having 'on show' cocaine, nothing the actors would touch. I only need my characters to handle the fake drugs not take any, so I simply need to create a prop that looks realisticlly like cocaine, to find out how to do this I used the website, these quotes told me what to purchase..

"It’s usually cornstarch, but you have to put a bit of baby powder into it, because starch is too sticky and heavy," Gillian Albinski, the prop master on "Homeland," told the New York Post. 

"I always use powdered lactose," says longtime prop master Mychael Bates, who worked on 2011’s Horrible Bosses, which included scenes of cocaine use. "You can snort it for real, and it doesn’t affect you. It’s just a milk product."

As you can see in this trailer, a powdered substance is used however it is not real drugs and looks realistic.



I also watched a few videos such as the one below, to find different ways of creating fake drugs.   



After all the research I did, I did not need people to take the substance I decided the easiest way would be to purchase cornstarch and baby powder in Morrisons..



I then mixed the two products and put them in some plastic bags I bought from amazon, this made a realistic substance I would then use in my video.

Post 4 - Practice task planning

Potential Settings:  Kett's Park This is where we decided to film our preliminary task. Towards the back of the field, there is a large area of forest. This is where our characters meet, and fall in love. We chose this area as it is quite picturesque, and logically, makes sense for the story (they meet whilst walking their dog, and this is a popular dog walking area). Later on in the video, we are planning on showing them at home, perhaps arguing. For the house, we will use Megan's living room. We will focus more on the relationship, and the action, so the room will just be generic. The forest will be bright and beautiful, which will become a stark juxtaposition compared to the house. This will further portray the breakdown of their relationship, and how happy they were together, which will evoke sadness. Setting What is Setting?  You probably remember from grade school that the setting is where the story takes place, like the woods or Grandmother's house. Actually, the  setting  of a story tells the time, and place of a story and is told using techniques like imagery.  Time  When we talk the time in setting, we don't usually mean what time it is on the clock. The time of the setting is broader, like a period. The movie  Star Wars  is set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, for example, and the story  Romeo and Juliet  is set in the past here on Earth.
