Audience research video trying to find out the information needed to put into your decision making for your Ancillary task 1. Are there any particular CD covers that you remember? For what reason do you remember these? How important is the cover of a CD to you buying it? Why? In your opinion what makes a good CD cover? Does it need to stand out on the shelf? How much space should the act name and track name take up? Should the cover image be of the act or a piece of design/art work? Does this depend on whether the act is a soloist or as part of a group/band? Should there be a common theme across the 4 panels or 4 individual images? What should be included on the inside and back panel? Do you like to see the lyrics included? Should the acts social media accounts appear on the digipak somewhere? Should the images included have some link to the name of track(s), genre of music, name of act etc? Is the choice of font and text colour important?

The rehearsals for my videos have gone very well, I did rehearsals the same day as I filmed, for each scene I did a rehearsal and gave them direction, then for the final cuts of each scene they would know what to do for each scene. As a result of the rehearsals I knew how to direct my actors in each scene.

Is there a particular directing style you want to use? Montage and long takes style Shots and the cuts are the most basic building blocks of films, meanings in films and music videos are created primarily by montage, or editing that uses cuts to place shots in conversation with one another. We get to view past and present at the same time and understand the back stories of our characters. Where shots last for a long time and keep the elements of a scene in deep focus, letting the viewer choose his or her points of emphasis. The mise-en-scène, the design and arrangement of the shot, gains importance in this style of directing. How am I going to edit my videos? Where do the transitions between the shots happen? First video... Charlie and Elsie, in a car, getting ready for something, this takes an entire day to drive to the location They then arrive at a house and we soon realise they are at a house party We then follow them into the party We see Charlie being hands on, rude and aggressive towards everyone. Sound  Diegetic Sound  Diegetic sound is the sound that the camera picks up while filming that are just natural sounds: voices of character and the majority of speech, sounds made by objects being used in the story. These diegetic sounds are sources that have the ability to be heard by all of the characters on-screen. For example, the music played in One Week on the radio of the motorbike as he is traveling west can be referred to as a type of diegetic sound in which music is played to create a feeling for both the viewer as well as the character on-set. Any diegetic sound that occurs as part of your idea? No there is no diegetic sound involved in either of my videos, using diegetic sound in my videos would distract from the song and from the narrative therefore I will only use my soundtrack and foley sound. The props needed in my music videos are.. Empty alcohol bottles filled with juice or water for those under  18, Cigarettes and fake d rugs, each of these will be featured at the party scene and during the car ride to the party. Some of these items are easy to purchase, such as the bottles of alcohol and cigarettes however I will not be purchasing any alcohol as I am underage and so are most of my cast therefore I will collect any empty bottles from parents and adults. These images are simply stock images to show the type of bottles I will collect but these are the type of bottles I wish to collect to make it seem as though my characters are drinking alcohol. Costumes and makeup required for my characters Elsie Charlie Images of the costumes Outfit 1 Outfit 2  outfit 3 Outfit 5 The reason I chose these outfits were because I don't have the budget to buy all new costumes, also the actors I used already had the ideal clothes for their characters, since this music video is going to be aimed at promoting Elly and her music as advertisement, it is a key influence of this music video to ensure that she wears clothes that she feels represents her, to form her own iconic look in clothes she feels comfortable in.
